Torin retired James Allen Davis as a field character in 2008 and has completed his memoirs, due for publication in time for the 150th anniversary cycle in 2011-2015.

He is currently at work on the memoirs of his Confederate diplomat character, Henri G. Beauchet of St. Charles Parish Louisiana.

He continues to reenact with Jill throughout the year at various Southern California events as Mr. Beauchet or his Missouri guerrilla character, "Black Jack" Shelton of Quantrill's Raiders.
